Research is the single biggest long-term investment in Age of Origins. Making the right choices early saves months of progress.
Research Trees Overview
| Tree | Priority | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Economy | High (early) | Unlocks faster building, more resource production |
| Military | High (always) | Attack/defense/HP bonuses — never stop this |
| Defence | Medium | Important for hospitals and troop capacity |
| Special Ops | Late game | Useful for rallies and advanced tactics |
Early Game: Economy First
Until your CC hits level 20, focus almost exclusively on Economy research:
- Gathering Speed — lets you gather resources from the map faster
- Construction Speed — saves days on building timers
- Research Speed — compounds over time; unlock this as early as possible
Mid Game: Military Research
Once Construction and Research Speed are solid, shift hard into Military:
- March Size — more troops per march = more power
- Troop Attack — scales with every battle
- Troop HP — keeps your army alive longer
What to Avoid Early
- Special Ops tree — powerful late-game but huge time sink early
- Siege research — niche, not worth prioritising unless your alliance focuses on zeroing
Tip: Batch Research With Speedups
