Early Game

Early Game Priorities

What to focus on in your first week to get a strong foundation and avoid common mistakes.

The early game is where most players waste their time. Follow these priorities to get ahead fast.

1. Finish the Tutorial Missions First

Don’t ignore the tutorial missions — they reward you with a protected status bubble (Beginner’s Protection), speedups, and resources you need to rush your city level to level 15+.

2. Rush Your City Level

Your city level controls almost everything: troop tiers, building slots, research unlocks. Get it to C15 as fast as possible, then work toward C20.

Don’t level up your base after Beginner’s Protection expires until you’re ready. Higher city levels outside protection attract stronger attackers.

3. Join an Active Alliance Early

An active alliance gives you:

  • Alliance help — reduces build and research times
  • Alliance Buffs - help with attack and other boosts
  • Alliance territory — resource bonuses
  • Teleport — get close to your alliance before the bubble expires
  • Protection — allies will defend you

Don’t wait until you’re “ready” to join. Join immediately and be active.

4. Internal City Tiles Build Order

You have 32 spots inside your city for building tiles. Once you hit c20 you should adjust your tiles to be 8 training grounds, 8 medic stations, 6 each of steel and mineral, 4 each of grain and oil.

  1. Training Grounds (8) -> Allows you to recruit more troops faster
  2. Medic Station (8) -> Expands your wounded troop capacity
  3. Steel (6)
  4. Mineral (6)
  5. Oil (4)
  6. Food (4)

5. Train T1 Troops in Bulk

T1 troops are worthless past the very early game, but ideal for gathering and upgrading. T1 tanks are the best for gathering.

6. Save Speedups

It’s tempting to burn speedups on everything. Resist the urge. Save them for:

  • Main Hall upgrades (the longest builds)
  • Key research milestones
  • Emergency situations (base under attack, event timers)

7. Setup 1-2 Farm Cities

Setup 1-2 or more farm cities, use the same procedure to rush them to c15 to unlock steel resources then to c20 to unlock mineral resources.

If you are on iphone you can bind 2 cities in the same nation to each of Game Center, Apple Account, and Facebook. If playing on Android, you can bind to Google Play, Google and Facebook

  • Farm cities can basically double or triple the amount of resources you are able to gather to upgrade your main city
  • When your farm city has enough resources send all of the troops out to gather and then use your main city to attack your farm city to steal the resources.
  • Farm cities should never have higher troops than t4 level and should never have more troops than your 3 fleets max limit. Example: if 1 fleet is 20k unit limit then you should never have more than 60k units of troops.

Example binding: Main City to Game Center or Google Play, 1 farm bound to same, 2 farms bound to Apple or Google account and 2 more cities bound to Facebook for total of 6 cities.
